DATES & TIMES

Each age group will have TWO tryout sessions during the week of August 12th, and we’ll have a “Last Call” tryout for any athletes who can’t attend the first two sessions. See the dates below:

• U16 Tryout: Monday August 12th & Wednesday August 14th, 2024 (times TBD)

• U17 Tryout: Tuesday August 13th & Thursday August 15th, 2024 (times TBD)

• U18 Tryout: Tuesday August 13th & Thursday August 15th, 2024 (times TBD)

• Last Call Tryouts for U16-U18: Friday August 16th OR Sunday August 18th, 2024 (TBD)

NEW THIS YEAR

We're excited to announce that we're moving our U16-U18 Girls Club team tryouts for this upcoming season to August 2024 before your high school tryouts! We will be evaluating and making placements for ALL U16-U18 NEVBC teams at this time, including our Open, Club, and Regional teams.

WHY THE CHANGE

We've carefully considered this decision to create a better tryout experience for all participants. Here are some of the factors that went into this decision.

1. By shifting tryouts to August, we're ensuring there's no overlap with high school postseason activities. This means athletes can participate fully in tryouts and be more thoroughly and fairly evaluated in-person by our experienced team of evaluators. 

2. The new tryout application process (only for U16-U18 tryouts) will ensure that athletes attending tryouts have a more thorough evaluation and a fair chance of making a team.

3. Athletes who do not make a team at Northeast in August will have more time in the fall to explore other club team options and make an informed decision about where to play club.

4. This change will align our tryouts with the New York state club tryouts, so athletes can make an informed decision if they have multiple options.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

• If you're currently a NEVBC player on any U15-U17 Open, Club or Regional team, you're automatically invited to tryout at the August U16-U18 tryouts. You will receive an email on May 14th with a private link to register for tryouts (no application needed). Returning athletes who are interested in trying out must register for tryouts by July 1st.

• For U16-U18 athletes that are NEW to NEVBC, you're warmly invited to apply to tryouts via our linked Google Form. The Application window will be open May 20th - July 29th. Upon meeting the requirements, you'll receive a link to register for August tryouts via email by August 5th.

• If you are a U12-U15 athlete, you will register as usual for tryouts and attend tryouts in November.

We know that these changes may impact your summer plans, but please know that they are made with the best interests of all participants in mind. Our goal is to ensure fairness, transparency, and a high-quality experience for every athlete involved.

2024 U16-U18 TRYOUT APPLICATION PROCESS

Application (for NEW NEVBC athletes only): Opens May 20th & closes July 31st

Tryout Acceptance Date: Upon meeting the requirements, you'll receive a link to register for August tryouts via email on August 5th.

Before you apply, please read the steps below to ensure you have everything you need to complete the application process and be considered for the 2024 U16-U18 tryouts. No payment or deposit is required to apply.

1. Complete this Google Form (available May 20th) in full by July 29th.

2. You must include a highlight video, preferably a direct link to a Youtube or Hudl video (you may also upload your video).

   • Video should ideally be comprised of 2-3 minutes of highlights and should be no longer than 5-7 minutes.

3. A NEVBC review committee will review your application to ensure that necessary information has been provided and that you meet eligibility requirements for participation in the tryouts.

4. You will be notified on August 5th if you have been accepted into U16-U18 tryouts.

5. Upon approval, you will receive a link via email to register and pay for tryouts.

6. If your application is not approved, you will also be notified via email by August 5th.
