Boys U15-U18 Open
These are our highest level boys volleyball teams. Most of our U15-U18 Open athletes are stand-out varsity level players who are making huge impacts for their high school programs. Athletes in contention for these roster spots typically display impressive physical capabilities (i.e. height, vertical jump, lateral quickness, etc.) and an understanding of systematic volleyball, especially at the U16-U18 levels. Many athletes from our prior Open level teams are currently playing college volleyball at the NCAA Division I, II, III, or NJCAA levels. Many of our current Open athletes are pursuing opportunities to play volleyball in college or are actively speaking with college coaches. Open Teams will be traveling out of the region on numerous weekends throughout the season, as well as competing in the highest division within our region in order to provide the most exposure to high-level competition. Team rosters will be limited to 10-11 athletes in order to enhance each athlete's experience, so this program requires the highest level of commitment.* *We are flexible with our U14-U15 athletes playing multiple sports, as we know it’s extremely beneficial to your athletic development. Playing multiple sports can work for the U16+ athletes but only with very good upfront communication and planning. Any U16+ athletes who are considering playing a high school winter or spring sport MUST consult with the Club Director before making the commitment to a Club or Open team. The expectation is that club volleyball commitments, especially tournaments, will be prioritized over winter or spring high school sports, and we will require you to meet with your high school coach to ensure your commitment to your NEVBC team can be upheld.
Boys U14-U18 Club
Our NEVBC Boys Club level teams are our intermediate boys volleyball teams. Many of our U15-U18 athletes are on JV/Varsity teams and are beginning to become leaders within their high school programs. For our Club teams, athletes in contention for these roster spots may be newer to volleyball but have physical attributes (i.e. height, vertical jump, quickness, etc.) that will allow them to quickly become successful in volleyball. Some of the Club level athletes also have a lot of playing experience, either with their high school team or a previous club team. Club Level teams will play a competitive tournament schedule that features a number of in-region events, as well as a couple out of region competitions.Team rosters will be limited to 10-11 athletes in order to enhance each athlete's experience, so this program requires a very high level of commitment.
Boys U14-U18 Academy
Our new NEVBC Boys Academy teams are designed to make volleyball accessible for more young athletes. This program is ideal for multi-sport athletes and/or are looking for a lower cost option with less weekend travel. Athletes enrolled in the Boys Academy program may be newer to the sport and looking to learn and further develop their skills to become a more impactful athlete on their high school team. Our goal for our Boys Academy athletes is to have athletes grow within our program structure, with some earning a roster spot on our Club and Open level teams in future years. NEVBC Boys Academy teams will play a schedule of local tournaments that will challenge our teams against other top clubs in our region.Team rosters will be limited to 12 athletes in order to enhance each athlete's experience while still allowing for some flexibility with other commitments.
Boys U14-U18 Academy + Practice Player
Since our inception, Northeast VBC has always maintained that there is NOTHING more valuable than training. We spend countless hours planning and executing training sessions that will challenge participants to learn, adapt, and grow within a positive and competitive environment. In that light, each season, we invite a couple of athletes to join our Open and Club teams for all of their practice and training sessions, without traveling to tournaments throughout the year. This opportunity is reserved for athletes who we feel are on the cusp of making the travel roster, and who will undoubtedly add value to the team’s training sessions. U14-U18 Open and Club Practice Players will usually be offered a roster spot on an Academy team at the same age group or higher! This will give athletes the opportunity to train with a higher-level Open or Club team while retaining the opportunity to play in competitions with an Academy team. *Note: Athletes being considered for Practice Player positions at the Open level may also be given the alternative of being a Rostered Player on a Club level team.
