We're excited to announce that we're moving our U16-U18 Girls Club team tryouts for this upcoming season to August 2024 before your high school tryouts! We will be evaluating and making placements for ALL U16-U18 NEVBC teams at this time, including our Open, Club, and Regional teams.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS​

• U16 Tryouts: Monday August 12 & Wednesday August 14, 2024

• U17 & U18 Tryouts: Tuesday August 13 & Thursday August 15, 2024

• LAST CALL Tryouts: Friday August 16 or Sunday August 18, 2024 (TBD)

• Deadline for RETURNING players to register for tryouts: July 1st, 2024

• Deadline for NEW players to apply for tryouts: July 29, 2024

WHY THE CHANGE

We've made this decision to improve the tryout experience. Here are some of the factors:

​

1. August tryouts will eliminate the overlap with high school volleyball postseason. This allows more athletes to participate fully in tryouts and be evaluated in-person. 

2. The new tryout application process (only for U16-U18 tryouts) will ensure that athletes trying out receive a thorough evaluation and have a fair chance of making a team.

3. Athletes who do not make a team at NEVBC in August will have more time in the fall to explore other club options.

4. This aligns our tryouts with the New York state club tryouts, so athletes can make a more informed decision.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

• If you are a CURRENT NEVBC player on a U15-U17 Open, Club or Regional team, you're automatically invited to tryout at the August U16-U18 tryouts. You will receive an email in May with a private link to register for tryouts. Returning athletes must register for tryouts by July 1st, 2024.

• If you are a NEW U16-U18 athlete, you're invited to apply for tryouts via a Google Form. The Application window will be open from mid May to July 29th, 2024. Upon meeting the requirements, you'll receive a link to register for tryouts via email by August 5th. You will need a highlight video, so please start getting your game or practice film together!

• If you are a U12-U15 athlete, you will register as usual for tryouts and attend tryouts in November.

We know that these changes may impact your summer plans, but please know that they are made with the best interests of all participants in mind. Our goal is to ensure fairness, transparency, and a high-quality experience for every athlete involved.
